We aim to operate a profitable and efficient business as a firm contracted to, and franchised by the Legal Services Commission.

Our philosophy is to give reality to the idea that a person is innocent until proved guilty and to assist people to understand the workings of the criminal law system. We will always put the interests and welfare of our clients first.

We have been working in the criminal defence system since 1984 and now have a team of lawyers with considerable experience. To put our philosophy into practice we have divided our work into three main areas and have trained our staff to specialist level in their particular area.

Police Station Work

Aidan Woods, Craig Tickner, Ronan Maguire, Anita Kearney and Michelle Sowden attend at Police stations. We operate a 24 hour call out service within the constraints of the Legal Services Commission contract.  This means that we are available at all times  for advice and representation in the Police Station.

Magistrates Court Work

Aidan Woods, Pat Rollason, Debbie Clarke, and Anita Kearney all work in the Magistrates Court. We attend on a regular basis all local courts, which are Bristol, North Avon, Bath and Weston-super-Mare. We also cover many courts in the South-West and pride ourselves on being able to attend courts well away from Bristol.

Crown Court Work

Craig Tickner, Ronan Maguire, Anita Kearney and Michelle Sowden attend Crown Courts both in Bristol and all over the South-West. We instruct barristers from numerous Chambers both in Bristol and elsewhere. We endeavour to take care to choose a barrister for a particular case with specific reference to the nature and complexity of the matter.
